Online Surgery: Central & East Cluster Autumn District Surgery with Early Years Consultants
Topic of discussion: Curriculum and Teaching
The first part of each session will be an EYC-led surgery, providing an open and supportive forum to explore Curriculum and Teaching through discussion, reflection and the sharing of effective practice.
Using the Early Years Toolkit as a lens, we will:
Explore the toolkit evidence-gathering criteria that sit before the standard descriptors.
Consider what curriculum and teaching mean in practice within early years settings.
Engage in scenario-based discussions to deepen understanding.
Share examples of effective practice and positive inspection outcomes relating to curriculum and teaching.
Reflect on how these areas can be strengthened to improve outcomes for children.
The second half of the session will focus on a Managers' Meeting, where we aim to establish the purpose of future cluster meetings and gain valuable insight into the priorities, challenges, and support needs of managers across the Central & East Cluster. This will help shape future support, collaboration and professional development opportunities within our districts.
