Districts and Clusters
Birmingham Early Years Networks are divided into 10 districts aligned with the city's parliamentary constituencies, organised into three clusters: North, Central & East, and South.
Working at district level helps us stay close to local contexts. Our district and city data profiles provide insight into local trends, to guide priorities shaped by children, families, practitioners, and partners. It gives space for neighbourhood‑level relationships, shared problem solving, and professional learning that feels relevant and connected.
Bringing these 10 districts together into three clusters strengthens this work even further. Clusters create a bridge between local practice and city‑wide development, led by our team of Early Education Advisors.
Working in clusters allow districts to collaborate more strategically, share expertise, and build consistency across broader areas of Birmingham. It also supports joint planning, shared leadership, and more efficient communication, ensuring that learning and innovation in one district can benefit others.

North Cluster
Erdington
Erdington district covers the wards of Castle Vale, Erdington, Graveley Hill, Kingstanding, part of Oscott, Perry Common, Pype Hayes, and Stockland Green.
Perry Barr
Perry Barr district covers part of Aston, Birchfield, Handsworth, Handsworth Wood, Holyhead, Lozells, part of Oscott, and Perry Barr.
Sutton Coldfield
Sutton Coldfield district covers the wards of Four Oaks, Mere Green, Reddicap, Roughley, Trinity, Vesey, Walmley & Minworth, and Wylde Green.
Central & East Cluster
Hodge Hill & Solihull North
Hodge Hill & Solihull North district covers the wards of Bromford, Garretts Green, Hodge Hill & Solihull North, Glebe Farm & Tile Cross, Heartlands, Shard End, and Ward End.
Ladywood
Ladywood district covers the wards of Bordesley & Highgate, part of Alum Rock, Bordesley Green, Ladywood, Nechells, Balsall Heath West, Newtown & Soho, and the Jewellery Quarter.
Yardley
Yardley district covers the wards of Acocks Green, Sheldon, Small Heath, South Yardley, Tyseley & Hay Mills, Yardley East, Yardley West, and Stetchford.
South Cluster
Edgbaston
Edgbaston district covers the wards of Bartley Green, Edgbaston, Harborne, Quinton, and North Edgbaston.
Hall Green & Moseley
Hall Green & Moseley district covers the wards of Hall Green South, Hall Green North, Moseley, Sparkbrook & Balsall Heath East, Sparkhill, and part of Brandwood & King’s Heath.
Northfield
Northfield district covers the wards of Allens Cross, Frankley Great Park, Kings Norton North, Kings Norton South, Longbridge & West Heath, Northfield, Rubery & Rednal, and part of Weoley & Selly Oak.
Selly Oak
Selly Oak district covers the wards of Billesley, Bournbrook & Selly Park, Bournville & Cotteridge, part of Brandwood & Kings Heath, Druids Heath & Monyhull, Highters Heath & Strichley, and part of Weoley & Selly Oak.
