District Data Profiles

Birmingham Early Years Networks are divided into 10 districts based on Birmingham’s constituencies. Each district comprises several wards.

We’ve created an Early Years Data Profile for each district, which gives contextual data for each district and the city as a whole.

Each District Data Profile includes:

  • Population data, e.g. number of children under 5, percentage of BAME, EAL, FSM, and levels of deprivation

  • Number of settings by type (Maintained Nursery Schools, Primary Schools, Special Schools, PVIs, Childminders)

  • Early Years Foundation Stage Profile (EYSP) data

  • Special Educational Needs data

The profiles draw on data from several sources, including Birmingham City Observatory, Birmingham City Council, and the 2021 Census.

District Data Profiles sit at the heart of our approach, guiding each District Steering Group to plan termly activities that strengthen practice and improve outcomes for children.

Please see our City Profile for an overview of city-wide data, including Early Education Entitlement (EEE) uptake.
