  • The Birmingham Early Years Network is divided into ten districts which match up exactly with Birmingham’s constituencies:


    You can search constituencies by postcode on the government’s website.

  • They provide an overview of key data available that relates to children, take up of funded early education provision and educational outcomes for each of the ten districts across the city. They also include relevant city and national data as well as some ward level data. If there is data or information that you would like included, please get in touch to discuss it.

  • Yes! The Birmingham Early Years Networks website was originally set up for practitioners working in Birmingham, however, it has grown since 2020 to include information that is directly relevant to families.

    50 Things to Do Before You’re 5 in Birmingham and Now You’re Talking Birmingham are examples of information for families to support children’s communication and language development.

    We may have an opportunity to develop this work further in the future, so let us know if you have any suggestions for content for families.

  • No, we love to share information and practice with any practitioner, professional and family member that is interested.

    The Birmingham Early Years Networks were established in 2019 to support practitioners in Birmingham and has grown over the last few years to include pages specifically for families and early years professionals across the Midlands as part of the DfE Early Years Stronger Practice Hub initiative.

    We have people who have signed up to receive our newsletters and information from across the UK and the world. We love to connect, so please get in touch if you find something useful on our website.   • We publish professional development opportunities offered by the Birmingham Early Years Networks or one of our professional development partners. We prioritise free or low-cost opportunities knowing that funding is limited across the sector.

    We do publish free and low-cost events for children and families as part of the 50 Things to do before you’re 5 in Birmingham app and if you have an event you can get in contact here.

  • We love to be able to share examples of practice across Birmingham or information about projects and topics that we think practitioners and families might find interesting.
